Golden Soror • Charter Member of Delta Lambda Omega
Mae Etta Scott entered eternal rest on September 11, 2000, after a lifetime of service, scholarship, and sisterhood. Born in Reisor, Louisiana in 1908, she devoted her professional life to the Caddo Parish School System, teaching at Central Colored High School and later at Booker T. Washington High School. She retired in 1968 after more than forty years of shaping young minds and strengthening her community through education.
A faithful member of Little Union Baptist Church, Soror Scott served in adult ministries and auxiliaries, and she was a lifetime member of the YWCA. Her dedication to service extended into her beloved Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she was one of the seven charter members of Delta Lambda Omega Chapter. She served as Second Basileus in 1948–49, later becoming a Life Member and Golden Soror.
She leaves behind a legacy defined by dignity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to uplifting others. Soror Scott now rests as an Ivy Beyond the Wall, forever cherished in the bonds of sisterhood.
