Charter member of Psi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her science degree. Active in chapter social and cultural programs in the late 1930s and 1940s, she later remained connected to the sorority’s mission through her civic and professional work. A graduate of Portia Law School in Boston, Turner became the first woman appointed Assistant U.S. Attorney in Philadelphia in 1960. She served with the U.S. Civil Rights Division, NAACP, EEOC, and Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, advocating for school desegregation, fair housing, and equal employment. She died in Philadelphia at age 83 and was buried at Mount Lawn Cemetery.
In December 1939, she was listed among Sorors present at a Psi Chapter party for pledges, alongside Sorors Gladys East, Harriett Reed, and Marion Richards.2
In April 1940, she participated in an Alpha Kappa Alpha-sponsored revue in Philadelphia, contributing as part of the organizing group.3
